Rutgers University Maas-Rowe was selected to provide four Computer Controlled Tower Clock Drives as part of the restoration of this historic tower. Maas-Rowe duplicated the original wooden hands in aluminum with a gold finish. The Clocks reset automatically after power outages and for Daylight Saving Time changes. A Maas-Rowe Digital Chronobell sounds the Westminster Chimes in perfect harmony with the hands which are controlled by the same Master Clock. The Adminstration was skeptical about adding carillon music, thinking it might not be welcome. Maas-Rowe offered to put that part of the system in on a "trial" basis and it received a warm reception and is now a much loved part of the campus. At noon, students can be seen sitting out on the lawn listening to the beautiful bell music.
